Connect WhatsApp Business
Reply to leads on WhatsApp from your own business number.
Before you start
- A phone number that is not already on the WhatsApp app (or you're happy to move it).
- You're an owner or admin.
The steps at a glance
Step 1 of 5
In the menu on the left, tap Integrations. On a phone, tap the ☰ menu button at the top first.
On the WhatsApp Business card, tap Connect WhatsApp.
Sign in with Facebook, choose or create your business, add your number and type the code Meta texts you.
Back here, tap Create starter templates. Meta checks them (usually minutes).
Tap Refresh status. You'll see your Number, Display name and Quality.
What the code looks like
Find it: Meta WhatsApp Manager → API setup → Phone number IDPaste it: Settings → Connect your accounts → WhatsApp → Phone number ID
Not this: +44 7700 900123 or the WhatsApp Business Account ID — the box needs the Phone number ID, not the phone number or the account ID.
Find it: Meta Business settings → System users → Generate tokenPaste it: Settings → Connect your accounts → WhatsApp → Access token
✅ How do I know it worked?
- The card says Connected. Message a lead from their profile — it arrives on WhatsApp.
⚠️ Common mistakes
ProblemNew leads don't get a WhatsApp.FixMessages to new people need an approved template. Tap Create starter templates and wait for approval.
ProblemYou pasted the phone number into Phone number ID.FixThe Phone number ID is 15–16 digits from WhatsApp Manager, not your phone number.
