Find and paste the right key, code or ID
How to tell keys, codes and IDs apart by how they start — and paste the right one in the right box.
The steps at a glance
Step 1 of 4
Most keys tell you what they are in their first few letters. Check the table of examples below.
Use the provider's Copy button. Long keys are easy to cut short when you select by hand.
Paste into the box. Remove spaces or quote marks at the start or end.
Press the box's test button (Test and connect, Send a test, Check connection).
What the code looks like
Find it: Settings → Developers and APIPaste it: The other app

Not this: pk_live_… — publishable keys can't take payments here.

Find it: console.twilio.com → Account InfoPaste it: Settings → Connect your accounts → Text messages
Find it: Meta for Developers / WhatsApp ManagerPaste it: Only the box with the same name
Not this: EAAG… — that's an access token, not an ID.
Find it: Google Analytics → Data streamsPaste it: Your website (not here). Here, connect Google and tick the property.

- The test button says it worked.
⚠️ Common mistakes
ProblemYou pasted the Page ID but the box needs the App ID.FixThe App ID looks like 1372…, 15–16 digits, from App settings → Basic.
ProblemYou pasted a test key (rk_test_, sk_test_).FixTest keys only work with pretend money. Use the live key for real payments.
ProblemA space crept in at the end.FixDelete everything in the box and paste again.
